What We Do
Caring for Orphans, Vulnerable Children, the Elderly and People with Disabilities
This is the heart of what Lift A Life Foundation does, and the activity we are registered for. We walk with children who have lost parents or protection, with older people living alone, and with people whose disabilities are too often met with neglect rather than care.

What this looks like in practice
It is ordinary, unglamorous and constant. It is turning up at a home where a grandmother is raising children she cannot afford to feed. It is sitting with a child in a wheelchair at mealtime because feeding takes patience and hands. It is carrying in flour, cooking oil, soap and sanitary towels because dignity is made of small practical things.
We visit families in their homes rather than waiting for them to find us. We support centres already caring for children with severe disabilities, because they know their children best and what they usually lack is supplies and hands, not expertise.
Who we walk with
- Orphans and vulnerable children, including children in households headed by grandparents or older siblings.
- Children and young people with disabilities, and the centres and families who care for them day to day.
- Older people living alone or caring for grandchildren with little support.
Measuring this work
We publish figures for this work once they have been counted and can be evidenced. Nothing appears here before then. If you need detail on what this costs and what it achieves, ask us directly.
